  1. online to live

ive always wondered how awsome it would be to play poker for a living but i feel like online poker nowadays requires a crazy amount of skill to grind out a liveable profit in todays game. im not saying im not willing to put in the work i just feel like it would be much more profitable (and fun) to play live in a casino. the only things stopping me are bankroll and skill. so i thought it would be a good idea to get some hands in online and plug some leaks that i have before transitioning to live ...

  2. Poker Stats

Hey Guys... I've been blogging a bit about poker stats on ace poker solutions. Just wanted to share the blog on here. It's going to be a 145 part series... or something around there. Ok, probably not that much, but it will be a lot.

  3. October Blog

    Hi guys,

October wasn't too exciting. I was down another $80 for the month after an initial $80 upswing, so that was pretty disheartening. I hit a bad run and it just kept going down. I guess that was a 40 BI downswing, yuck. Its all a part of the learning experience I suppose.

I've gotten a bit looser since September and my VPIP/PFR for October was 30/21/6, and big change since my september vpip/pfr of 14/10. I've since started getting tighter again, heading more ...

  4. My progress from 2nl, Oct '12

    Hi Guys

Well, this has been a strange month and a month with big changes to my poker mentallity and enthusiasm, and I'm not really wanting to write a blog entry, but I hate blogs who are all gung ho and then just stop and leaves you to wonder what happened. Also I have not stopped playing, just toned it down a lot and changed focus from online to live and from cash games to tournaments.

The first two weeks of October went as planned although with less profit at planned. ...

  5. September Blog

Well September is here and I have reached my goal from last month of getting started in 2 or 4nl. I played my first day of 4nl yesterday and its pretty exciting to be playing real stakes.

One thing I noticed is that although fish are profitable, they make your graph look like the New York city sky line.

Looking back at my first blog from August, and my stats back then, I looked pretty fishy!

    Right now I am running:

    VPIP: 14.31 PFR ...

  6. August 2012, on track.....

Hello September and fare well August

August is almost finished and I’m working tonight so I have played my last hand this month. The month has been a very exiting month for my poker progress filled with lots of new discoveries and achievements.

I set out to play 10.000 hands, a feat that would be quite new to me as I previously only had played a few thousand hands each month I managed to end up with just over 13.000 hands despite spending a lot more time at work than ...

  7. My progress from 2NL

[QUOTE=grindabod;69182]Im going to try and put my progress, goals etc. down here for you guys to hopefully comment on and for me to put it out there so ill be more comitted.

I started playing poker online in february and had before that hardly played poker. I have struggled with 2NL and deposited 70£ in all and was down to 8$ a couple of months ago when it slowly started to go the other way. I got pokertracker at that point and signed up for the roots course 6 weeks ago.

  9. First blog - open to suggestions.

Hi guys, thought i'd post my current pokertracker stats. Been encouraged by grinadabod's stats and will try to be good and use his stats as a goal for me .

I've been doing a lot of experimenting lately - trying to see how to take non-standard lines to take full advantage of fish type play. And i have to say, its much tougher than it looks. But if i want to take my game to the next level I have to learn how to appropriately adjust to different types of play.

  10. Move down?

I think I should move down... I've lost 11 buy-ins in EV now and 17.5 in reality. So running below EV, but that's what's been happening in the last 2.5 years so that normal I guess. About 65 buy-ins below EV after 500K hands.

I still have no idea what I'm doing wrong... I guess I still call too often on the river although it seems like I fold a lot more than a couple of months ago.

My 25/20 style seems ok. My WTSD% of 24.5 and aggressionfactor of 3.3 seem ok.

  11. The Digital Frontier's Market Cycles - Diablo 3

One of the ideas thrown around any financial conversations these days is investing in “Emerging Markets”. I would love to go into detail here about what all the hype with these new markets is about, but one word would suffice: INEFFICIENCY.

I would like to personally applaud Blizzard/Activision for attempting to do the right thing by providing an Ebay-like market platform for in-game item exchanges. For the first time in a gaming company’s history, they will be somewhat in charge ...

  12. Quest

I'm not really sure what to do with poker. I love the game, but the last 3 years I've been loosing slowly but steady. I see all these bad players, but somehow I can't even beat 50NL. Which is ridiculous considering that there are 1 or 2 fish at every table on Party. I guess I'm one of them only I don't play 50% of my hands or shove 100BB with J9o after a raise and a cold call (which I saw somebody do today and he obviously won, at least I wasn't in the hand ).

    I used to play 1000NL ...

Hi to who ever reads this. I've enever tried blogging before, but I've recently read "the mental game of Poker" by Jared Tendler and he suggests that I write a blog to cover mental aspects of the game and help to organise my thoughts.

    So here goes.

I've been playing pokerfor 5 years now and although I haven't won a huge amount I love the game and I want to try and impprove to a level where I can make an regular side income.

  15. My First Book - Quantum Poker

I have been working pretty hard on a book these past few months and, while in the editing stages, I am finally close enough to announce it to the world. Quantum Poker is my attempt to completely conquer the challenge of how to play poker "perfectly" and how poker should be played at the table. I talk about a lot of well known concepts, putting some to rest and changing the definitions of others. ...
