    1.1% suckout

Down on my luck all day then this happens.

    (6 max) - NL Hold'em - $0.10/$0.25 -

    BB Seat 1: Hero ($26.14)
    MP Seat 3: villain ($26.98)
    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to Hero [8h 7h]
    villain raises to $0.75
    Hero calls $0.50
    *** FLOP *** [Jc 7s 8d] (Total Pot: $1.60, 2 Players)
    Hero bets $1.60
villain raises to $26.23, and is all in
Hero calls $23.79, and is all in
    villain shows [8c 8s]
    Hero shows [8h 7h]

    *** TURN *** [Jc 7s 8d] [7c] (Total Pot: $52.38, 2 Players, 1 All-In)
    *** RIVER *** [Jc 7s 8d 7c] [7d] (Total Pot: $52.38, 2 Players, 1 All-In)
villain shows a full house, Eights full of Sevens
Hero shows four of a kind, Sevens
Hero wins the pot ($49.77) with four of a kind, Sevens

What do you think of that call?
I did not know what to think tbh.

Actually when someone makes huge over bet I often feel they bluffing or semi-bluffing, I have very tight stats so they have imo no reason to think I would pay off.. unless they took notes cause its a mistake I have made before.

But what to think of that huge all-in? I personally thought he had maybe an overpair or the lower end of the straight, and figured I would have half decent outs if he had the straight.
Was pretty sick when he turned over 88 realising I had almost no outs..

I'm folding that on the flop about 100% of the time. The times you're good will not outweigh the times you're absolutely crushed. If he was bluffing, he's raise less. If he has top pair or over pairs he'd call or make a slight raise, not just jam his whole stack in.

    erm uhoh.

His stats atm, although not sure if this was the case when I made that call.
    VPIP: 13
    PFR: 11
    3bet: 5
    Postflop Agg%: 31%
    Won at SD: 70%
But I only saw 107 hands from him, which I don't think is much in NL Fast

I guess vs those stats it was particularly dumb.

I don't understand his play though.
I had tight stats at the time as I'd been on a bad run, maybe PFR 14%.
So to my mind if he had the straight, he had no reason to think I'd pay off by betting like that, so I didn't think he had the straight, not the top end anyway.
With those stats he must have had something.

So most likely a set or twopair?
Which my hand was bad vs as I wouldn't have had much outs.
So for sure I should have folded.

But imo, normally I would only call that if I had the straight, or a set myself, or maybe the higher twopair. (I was for sure worried about calling with the lower twopair).
So imo, looking at what I would normally call with, it can't be a good idea for him to throw down like that without the nut hand?

This is what causes me to make bad calls though, when opp does something I feel doesn't make sense (not that I'm the expert!) and I am left a bit confused and start thinking he's trying to bully me.
